SMS Messaging & Consent
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Fenceline is a managed industrial leak detection service operated by Dau Data Solutions LLC (d/b/a Fenceline). We deploy trailer-mounted thermal cameras outside the fence line of oil and gas facilities and send automated SMS notifications to the facility personnel our customers designate, so they are alerted the moment a potential leak is detected.
Fenceline SMS messages are sent exclusively to facility personnel that our operator customers designate in writing on the Site Onboarding Form. Typical recipients include:
- Facility operators and lease operators
- HSE and environmental compliance staff
- On-call supervisors and area foremen
- Designated emergency response contacts
Fenceline never markets to consumers and does not send promotional SMS. Mobile numbers are not collected through any web form, pop-up, purchased list, or marketing channel — only through a signed Site Onboarding Form.
For every mobile number added to the Fenceline messaging program, the following two things occur before the first message is sent:
- The facility operator executes a Site Onboarding Form that lists each Designated Recipient by name, role, mobile number, and the message categories they are authorized to receive.
- Each Designated Recipient signs the same form next to their own mobile number, acknowledging the consent language reproduced in Section 06 below.
Fenceline retains the signed forms for the duration of the service agreement and provides copies on request for carrier or regulator audits.
Three categories of operational messages only:
Fenceline alert: possible hydrocarbon release detected at [Site Name], Cam 2, 14:07 CDT. Confidence high. Review at [link]. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.
Fenceline status: Cam 1 at [Site Name] returned to service at 09:14 CDT after 22 min outage. No alerts missed. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
Fenceline maintenance notice: scheduled camera calibration at [Site Name] on [Date] 10:00–11:00 CDT. Monitoring will resume within 1 hour. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
Fenceline does not send marketing, promotional, political, or fundraising messages, and does not include affiliate or third-party content.
Under normal operations, recipients receive approximately 1–10 messages per month. Volume is higher during active leak events or planned maintenance windows.
Message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan. Fenceline does not charge recipients for SMS messages.
“I agree to receive automated SMS messages from Fenceline at the mobile number listed next to my name, including leak detection alerts, system status notifications, and scheduled maintenance notices related to the monitored site. Message frequency varies (typically 1–10 per month, more during active incidents). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Fenceline will not share my mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes.”

Recipients can opt out of Fenceline SMS messages at any time by replying STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, REVOKE, OPTOUT) to any Fenceline message. We honor opt-outs immediately in accordance with CTIA guidelines.
Reply HELP (or INFO) for assistance, or contact us directly at hello@fenceline.io.
A recipient who opts out will stop receiving all Fenceline SMS messages, including leak alerts. Customers are responsible for designating alternate recipients as needed to maintain alerting coverage for their sites.
Fenceline does not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or message content with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile numbers are used exclusively to deliver the operational messages described in Section 04, and are shared only with service providers that directly support delivery (for example, our SMS carrier, Twilio) under confidentiality agreements. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Fenceline SMS alerts are an operational convenience. They are not a substitute for any monitoring, detection, reporting, or emergency response system that a facility is required to maintain under law, permit, or internal policy.
